Department of tumors of the female reproductive system

Location and infrastructure: The oncogynecology department is located on the 3rd floor and has 25 beds, which provides comfortable conditions for patients.

What we treat. Types of diseases

The main focus of the department of tumors of the female reproductive system is surgical treatment of malignant tumors of the cervix and body of the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes, vulva and vagina.

The department performs all types of operations for malignant tumors of the female genital organs, including videoendoscopic (laparoscopic) interventions, extended and combined operations.

In their work, the department’s specialists use their own developments and original methods.

Areas of activity. Types of treatment and surgical interventions

  • Minimally invasive surgeries: currently, more than 30% of surgeries in the department are performed laparoscopically. This technique minimizes the trauma of the surgery, reducing the hospitalization period to 2-4 days and allowing patients to return to their normal lives faster.
  • Extended and combined surgeries: for common forms of tumors, extended and combined cytoreductive surgeries are used, aimed at the maximum possible removal of the tumor and metastases. The department uses modern surgical technologies that ensure high efficiency and safety of treatment.
  • Organ-preserving treatment: for young women with ovarian cancer, organ-preserving and functionally sparing treatment is available. This approach allows not only to cure cancer, but also to preserve reproductive function, providing the opportunity to have a child in the future. Scientific work of the department

The scientific work of the department is aimed at continuously improving the treatment of cancer of the female genital organs. The department actively conducts scientific research, including international level, which contributes to the introduction of the latest technologies and improving the quality of treatment.

Currently, the department is conducting a scientific study on the topic of “Intra-abdominal aerosol chemotherapy under pressure in the combined treatment of locally advanced ovarian cancer.” This study is aimed at studying the effectiveness and safety of a new treatment method, which can become a promising tool for combating this complex form of cancer.
